KEIUN TSUJII MUSEUM OF SHO ART
Biography
Born in 1944 in Uryu-town, Hokkaido.
In 1964, entered Hokkaido Gakugei University (now Hokkaido University of Education) to receive specialized education in Japanese calligraphy.
In the 1970s, started calligraphy activities from a young age and continuously participated in prominent domestic calligraphy exhibitions, winning numerous awards. Not limited to Japan, has exhibited or organized exhibitions in Europe, China, South America, and other countries, actively engaging in overseas activities. Has exhibition records at the Musée Guimet (Paris), Royal College of Art Gallery (London), as well as exhibition records in Vienna, Stockholm, Edmonton, Beijing, São Paulo, Hanoi, and more.
In Japan, served as a Professor at Hokkaido University of Education, taught at SOAS, University of London, and Oxford University.
Held positions in well-known calligraphy-related organizations such as Nitten, Sogen Shodokai, Mainichi Shodokai, Japan Poem and Prose Writers Association, Hokkaido Shodoten, and contributed to the development of calligraphy societies in Japan. As a specialist in calligraphy education, nurtured numerous artists, pursued mutual improvement, and also led an artist group called "Shodo Kenkyu-Shoken" where calligraphy artists gather.
